Prince Odi Okojie, the husband of Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson, has broken his silence following the withdrawal of charges against a lady who allegedly defamed his family.
Kemi Filani News recalls that the couple recently made headlines after they arrested TikTok content creator Eedie Bliss over claims she made about their marriage.
The content creator had shared an unverified story alleging that Mercy Johnson connived with her husband’s supposed pregnant mistress’s house help to cause the loss of a pregnancy. The allegation sparked outrage online and drew widespread reactions across social media platforms.
Following her arrest, Eedie Bliss was later released after Mercy Johnson decided to withdraw the charges. Confirming the development on Instagram, the actress explained that her decision was based on love and respect for numerous individuals who reached out to her.
She appealed to the public to leave her family alone and revealed that the negative headlines had deeply affected her household, particularly her children.
Shortly after Mercy’s statement, Prince Odi Okojie took to his Instagram page to show support for his wife. Sharing loved-up photos of himself and Mercy Johnson, the Edo State politician declared that their family remains firmly rooted in faith and divine protection.
“We are rooted in grace and covered by God’s blessings,” he wrote, while tagging his wife.
His post quickly attracted reactions from fans and colleagues, many of whom praised the couple for standing together amid the controversy and choosing peace over prolonged legal battles.
This is not the first time the celebrity couple has had to address damaging rumours. Last year, a popular blogger alleged that Mercy Johnson was embroiled in a feud with her husband’s alleged pregnant side chick.
The blogger claimed that the actress discovered the affair and supposedly orchestrated events that led to the termination of the pregnancy through the help of a house help.
At the time, Mercy Johnson dismissed the rumours in her usual subtle way. She shared loved-up photos of herself and her husband, jokingly stating that she had not slept because there was “no sleep for the wicked.”
Prince Odi Okojie also joined his wife in shutting down the allegations by posting a romantic video of them together at their daughter Angel’s 10th birthday party.
The controversy came barely two months after the couple celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary, marking the milestone with beautiful family photos. Mercy Johnson described her husband as her friend, backbone, and source of strength. She credited God for sustaining their union, noting that while many people opposed their marriage, God approved it.
The actress further stated that despite repeated attempts by outsiders to destabilize their home, God continued to fix what others tried to destroy. In another emotional post, Mercy emphasized that her family means everything to her, adding that protecting them remains her top priority.
