Bedazzled, Daughters of Waters and Other Shows To Watch This December

The festive season is here, and DStv is bringing the drama, romance, and intrigue straight to your screens. From laugh-out-loud comedies to mystical sagas and high-stakes family dramas, December is packed with the best homegrown stories that promise emotion, suspense, and rooted in culture. There’s something for everyone this holiday season.

Here are some Nollywood titles to look out for:

- Bedazzled | Africa Magic Showcase, December 28

Bedazzled is a 90-minute comedic drama that explores the story of a socially awkward young woman who has a crush on her neighbour and, in a burst of misguided creativity, makes a playful animated story about the neighbour's girlfriend dying so she can take her place. She gets an adventure she did not ask for when her crush’s almost ex-girlfriend asks her for a simple favour.

Produced by Ifeanyi Chidi Barbara, the film explores how the person you think is blocking your romance might just become your greatest friend. Told through awkward crushes, accidental dark humour, and the messy, tender magic of girl friendships, Bedazzled boasts an array of new generation of Nollywood talent: Martha Ehinome, Vine Olugu, and Ruby Okezie.

- Daughters of Water | Africa Magic Showcase, December 29

Rooted in culture and mysticism, this drama follows the journey of destiny and spiritual heritage through Anie, a disgraced investigative journalist who returns to her hometown, Ikot Ndem, seeking a comeback. Her arrival coincides with the sacred Ukang Festival, where seven “Daughters of Water” from special families take part in a river-dipping ceremony to honour river spirits.

Starring Imoh Eboh as Anie, alongside Ade Laoye, Teniola Aladese, and Bobby Ogbolu, the series is written and directed by Sarmie Lowkey with Femi Ogunsanwo as executive producer. Catch new episodes every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at 8:30 PM on Africa Magic Showcase (DStv Channel 151).

- Mother of the Brides | Africa Magic Showcase

The series follows a Lagos matriarch who, after her husband dies without a will, discovers she must marry off one of her four daughters within 45 days to secure the family’s inheritance or risk losing everything to traditional customs and scheming in-laws.

Starring Linda Ejiofor-Suleiman, Kalu Ikeagwu, Ibrahim Suleiman, Wendy Lawal, and Gloria Anozie-Young, and produced by Rogba Arimoro, the drama airs on Africa Magic Showcase (DStv Channel 151). Follow the final journey of the Silva Whytes from Monday, December 22, at 8:30 PM, and catch up on previous episodes on Showmax.

- Perfectly Imperfect | Africa Magic Family, December 21

Perfectly Imperfect explores love, acceptance, and navigating flaws in relationships. The film, starring Maurice Sam and Onyii Alex, delves into loneliness, unexpected connections, and the surprising ways people find value in one another.

From a woman hiring a gigolo she unexpectedly grows to love, to stories of appreciation and gratitude, the film balances humour and drama to show that imperfections often lead to meaningful bonds.

Catch it on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at 9:30 PM on Africa Magic Family (DStv Channel 154).

- He Said She Said | Africa Magic Showcase, December 25 - 27

Set in Lagos during Christmas, this sharp contemporary romantic drama follows Adaora, a rising digital media star, and Tunde, a principled broadcast journalist. A viral on-air clash on their co-hosted show sparks an intense romance that collides with class, legacy, and family politics.

This three-part movie follows their story as they fight to protect love, careers, and identity under public scrutiny, culminating in a wedding that unveils a shocking paternity secret and forces everyone to confront what (and who) they truly stand for.
