Big Brother Naija alum Mercy Eke has taken to social media to celebrate her former housemate Tacha, following the reality star’s recent milestone achievement.

Tacha recently broke the Guinness World Record for the most makeovers, surpassing the previous record of 64 makeovers in just eight hours. The accomplishment has drawn widespread attention, and Mercy Eke was quick to join the chorus of congratulatory voices.

Sharing her excitement on the micro-blogging platform X, Mercy expressed her admiration for Tacha and hinted at a forthcoming announcement.

“I can’t wait for the big announcement, my baby, you deserve it! @Symply_Tacha. I owe you one,” Mercy wrote, showcasing the warmth in their renewed friendship.

Their celebration of each other is not new. Just last month, Tacha marked Mercy’s birthday, complimenting her and urging her to continue winning. This public display of camaraderie highlights how far the two reality stars have come since their contentious days in the Big Brother house.

Their relationship, however, has been far from smooth over the years. In 2023, Tacha had publicly shaded Mercy after she flaunted her Range Rover, which sparked conversations among fans. Tacha had tweeted, “But is she me?”, implying that she is in a league of her own, fueling rumors of rivalry between the two stars.

The tension continued that year during the Big Brother Naija All Stars edition, when Ilebaye emerged as the winner, beating both Mercy and other contestants. Tacha made statements questioning whether Mercy would have won her original season if not for Tacha’s disqualification, implying that she had been robbed of a rightful victory.

This sparked a strong reaction from actress Iheme Nancy, who slammed Tacha’s remarks. She defended Mercy, noting that Mercy had received more votes during their season and remained the ultimate winner. “The reality star wasn’t able to prove any point, as Mercy remains the winner of all time,” Iheme stated.

Mercy and Tacha’s fallout dates back to their messy altercation during the “Pepper Dem” season, which ultimately led to Tacha’s disqualification and Mercy Eke’s victory. Many believed that Tacha might have won the season if not for the fight, and the fallout left a lingering grudge between the two.

Despite the turbulent past, the reality stars reconciled in 2022, openly addressing their long-standing feud during interviews and calls with fans. During a candid session with Toke Makinwa, both Mercy and Tacha emphasized that they would no longer conform to public expectations or let haters dictate their actions. They explained how some fans derive satisfaction from seeing them fight and highlighted the importance of moving past the negativity.

Their renewed friendship was further solidified when the two appeared together on Instagram Live with Khloe Abiri, proving that their relationship had evolved beyond the animosity of the past. Fans have been quick to celebrate this reconciliation, appreciating the maturity and unity displayed by the former housemates.

With Tacha breaking a Guinness World Record and Mercy publicly celebrating her, it seems that the former rivals have successfully transformed their history of conflict into mutual support and admiration. This milestone not only signifies Tacha’s professional success but also marks the continued strengthening of their bond, showing that friendship and respect can overcome past misunderstandings.
