Big Brother Naija Season 10 winner, Imisi, has shared an honest and heartfelt reflection about her life after the show, shedding light on the emotional and physical challenges that come with newfound fame.
Since emerging as the winner of Africa’s most popular reality TV show, the young star has found herself thrust into the spotlight, with millions of eyes constantly watching her every move.
While many fans may see her glamorous red-carpet appearances and social media posts as signs of a perfect life, Imisi has revealed that behind the scenes, she’s still adjusting to the pressures that come with fame.
Speaking at a recent public event, Imisi opened up about the overwhelming expectations placed on her to always look glamorous and flawless.
She admitted that the need to maintain a polished appearance at all times has been one of her biggest struggles since leaving the Big Brother house. According to her, the constant demand to wear makeup, fix her hair, and dress up for events has made her realize how intense celebrity life can be.
“I’d say having to put on makeup each time I step out, maybe for an event like this, really isn’t my thing. I don’t like things on my face, and I even hate hairs on my body,” she confessed candidly. “Honestly, I think I look good without all that, but because of what you’re trying to portray and how people expect you to appear, you’ve got to keep your hair, makeup, and nails done.”
Imisi described herself as a woman who loves simplicity and prefers to look natural. She said her personal style is more relaxed and minimal, but the entertainment industry often forces her to meet certain beauty standards that don’t align with her personality.
The reality star explained that the pressure to always appear picture-perfect sometimes makes her feel disconnected from her true self.
Winning the ₦150 million grand prize earlier this year was a dream come true for Imisi, but it also came with responsibilities and attention that she hadn’t fully anticipated.
She said while fame has opened doors and brought her numerous opportunities, it has also exposed her to public scrutiny and judgment. Every outfit, photo, or public appearance is analyzed, and that pressure can be mentally draining.
Despite these challenges, Imisi remains grateful for the platform Big Brother Naija has given her. She said her goal now is to use her fame to inspire young women to embrace authenticity and confidence, regardless of societal expectations.
“I want girls to know that they can still be beautiful without changing who they are,” she said. “You don’t have to hide behind filters or heavy makeup to be accepted.”
Her candid revelation has sparked conversations online about the hidden realities of celebrity life, particularly for young women in the entertainment industry.
Many fans have praised her for her honesty, noting that it’s refreshing to see a public figure speak openly about the emotional toll of fame. Imisi’s story serves as a reminder that behind every glamorous image lies a person still trying to find balance between authenticity and public perception.
