The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the release of the results for the 2025 rescheduled Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The resit was conducted for candidates who experienced technical hitches during the main UTME.
According to JAMB, the rescheduled exam was taken by 336,845 candidates across 157 centers, predominantly in Lagos and South-East Nigeria. However, 21,082 candidates were absent.
The results underwent thorough review and validation by the Board’s Chief External Examiners, led by Professor Boniface Nworgu, an expert in educational assessment. The review process involved psychometric analysis to ensure fairness and accuracy.
JAMB confirmed that the results of underage candidates have been released but stressed that such candidates remain ineligible for admission into tertiary institutions. These candidates had earlier signed undertakings acknowledging their ineligibility.
In a surprising move, JAMB also released the results of some candidates linked to online examination malpractice, including those who engaged in so-called “WhatsApp runs.” The Board, however, warned that this act of leniency was a one-off and advised candidates to shun all forms of malpractice going forward.
For candidates who missed both the original and rescheduled UTME due to valid reasons, JAMB has assured that a mop-up exam will be conducted to give them another chance.
To check their results, candidates are advised to text UTMERESULT to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number used during registration. Standard SMS charges apply.
JAMB also urged all candidates and parents to stay updated by regularly visiting the official JAMB website and social media platforms for further announcements and guidelines.
