Popular Fuji musician, Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, has broken his silence following a violent attack on his convoy by suspected thugs in Ikire, Osun State.

The incident occurred last Sunday when the artist visited the town in Irewole Local Government Area for a live performance. According to eyewitnesses, the chaos erupted due to an overwhelming crowd that gathered to see the veteran performer.

In his reaction, Pasuma clarified the circumstances during a recent stage appearance, addressing fans who expressed concern over his safety. He explained that while he has many loyal fans in Ikire, the turnout for the show far exceeded expectations.

He revealed that the organizers had arranged a screen outside the venue to accommodate the large audience, but many people refused to remain outside. Tensions escalated when security personnel tried to restrict access into the hall.

“When the security prevented them from entering, the bad boys among them started stoning,” Pasuma said. He confirmed that it was the stoning that caused the damage to his Hilux and Hummer bus, refuting claims of gunshots being fired during the incident.

He further emphasized that the situation was not a targeted attack on him, but rather the actions of a few troublemakers within a large and excited crowd. “There’s no town without such elements,” he added.

Pasuma's clarification has helped to douse the tension that followed the viral video showing his damaged vehicles and panicked voices in the background. Many fans have since taken to social media to express relief that the artist was unharmed.

The incident has sparked fresh conversations around crowd control and security measures at public events involving high-profile entertainers in Nigeria.
