Nollywood actress and filmmaker Kiitan Bukola has made it clear that there is one role she would never take up acting in a p#rnographic film. Speaking in an interview with Saturday Beats, the actress emphasized her willingness to take on a variety of challenging roles but drew the line at explicit adult content.
"As long as it’s not the role of a p#rn star, I am ready to play any role. I love to challenge myself,” Kiitan boldly stated. Her comment highlights the balance many actors seek between professional versatility and personal boundaries.
The actress also shed light on the central theme of her latest film Inequality, which explores complex marital dynamics, especially when the woman is more financially successful than the man.
Kiitan explained that the movie seeks to address the tension that often arises in marriages where traditional gender roles are reversed due to financial imbalance.
“I don’t see a problem with it because some women are born to be great and they are born to rule. But just don’t be arrogant,” she said.
According to her, having money should not translate to disrespect towards one's partner. Instead, she advocates for humility and mutual respect in relationships, regardless of who earns more.
She advised women to support their husbands financially if necessary and maintain peace in the home. “Because you have money doesn’t mean you should disrespect your husband. Be peaceful, calm and respectful,” Kiitan added.
Known for her outspoken views and passion for female empowerment, Kiitan continues to use her platform to spark important conversations both on and off the screen.
