Nollywood actress and philanthropist Tonto Dikeh has opened up about a past experience with online fraudsters.
Taking to her Instagram page, she shared how she was once duped while trying to purchase phones for a giveaway. According to her, she paid for 12 mobile phones from an online vendor, only to be blocked immediately after making the payment.
She wrote:
“I dey here dey claim OG,
Let me tell you a little bit of what these little children have used my eyes to see shege banza.
I once bought 12 phones from an online vendor,
Once I paid, I got blocked.
I was too ashamed to cry or talk, so I only told @veeveerich and Henry.
This was about 3 years ago (phones were for my birthday giveaway that year).
Hehehe, them run King Street.”
Tonto admitted that the incident left her embarrassed, to the point that she could only confide in two close friends. The actress noted that the scam happened around three years ago and served as a harsh lesson.
