Online personality Daniel Regha has spoken out regarding the arrest of popular influencer VeryDarkMan, demanding accountability and transparency from both GTBank and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
VeryDarkMan was reportedly arrested shortly after leaving a GTBank branch, with claims suggesting that the EFCC was involved in the incident.
However, as of the time of this report, neither GTBank nor the EFCC has issued an official statement to confirm or deny the allegations.
In a post shared via his X (formerly Twitter) account, Daniel Regha criticized the silence of the two institutions.
He called out GTBank and the EFCC for their failure to address the matter publicly, insisting that both parties owe Nigerians a detailed explanation.
According to Regha, while an arrest may be justifiable if a crime was committed, reports of assault during the arrest are troubling and should not be ignored.
He emphasized the importance of due process, stating that if VeryDarkMan indeed committed a punishable offense, the appropriate legal procedures must be followed.
Regha condemned any form of assault, adding that no one should be subjected to violence regardless of the allegations against them.
The lack of communication from GTBank and the EFCC has sparked outrage online, with many Nigerians demanding answers and criticizing the institutions for what they view as a lack of transparency. Regha’s statement has further amplified calls for accountability, urging the relevant authorities to speak up and clarify the situation to prevent misinformation and public distrust.
As the controversy continues, many await official responses to better understand the circumstances surrounding VeryDarkMan’s arrest.
