Nigerian influencer Geh Geh has shared a less-than-impressed review of Davido’s latest album, 5ive, which dropped on April 18, 2025.
Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Geh Geh described the project as “a mid one,” adding that the album lacks depth and direction. He took particular issue with Davido’s choice of collaborators, especially American singer Chris Brown, suggesting that such partnerships might no longer excite Nigerian fans.
According to him, Davido should have focused on working with new and emerging talents instead of relying on big-name features.
Beyond the guest appearances, Geh Geh also called out what he sees as a creative slump in Davido’s sound, expressing disappointment over the artist’s failure to grow musically.
“Davido is not evolving; you no dey change, your brand is the same. E just be like say since the days of Dami Duro, nothing really change about Davido. Even the sound no dey evolve,” he said.
His comments have since stirred debate among fans, with some agreeing that Davido needs to reinvent himself, while others defended the album as a solid body of work.
