 Segun Johnson, a Nigerian musician, recently shared the challenging circumstances that led him into the music industry. 

In a heartfelt interview with media personality Teju BabyFace, Johnson opened up about how economic struggles pushed him toward his career in music.

Reflecting on his early life, Johnson revealed that his decision to pursue music wasn’t driven by passion but by necessity. 

He explained in Yoruba, “Ebi ni, hunger ni," which translates to "It was hunger, it was necessity. In Nigeria, you don't have many choices." This candid statement shed light on the harsh realities many Nigerians face, where survival often dictates career choices.

Johnson also spoke about his humble beginnings as a backup singer for established artists, a period during which he faced significant challenges, including performing for clients he had once looked up to.

 Despite these hardships, he persevered, and over time, he managed to carve out a name for himself in the music industry.
