Nigerian TikTok personality Peller has disclosed that he's deliberately keeping his distance from his family, citing emotional and financial burnout as the main reason.
In a recent interview, the content creator admitted that maintaining close contact with his relatives has become increasingly difficult because he now finds himself carrying the full weight of their financial well-being.
According to Peller, the dynamic in his household has shifted dramatically.
Rather than feeling like the child in the relationship, he said he often feels like the one playing the role of both father and mother.
He expressed that this burden has left him mentally drained, admitting that he sends them money and essentials but prefers to stay away for his own peace of mind.
Peller added that he has grown far beyond the mentality and expectations of his family and now views life from a very different perspective one that is often misunderstood by his loved ones.
This disconnect, he revealed, makes it nearly impossible for him to feel comfortable when he’s around them.
In a moment of honesty, Peller shared that if it weren’t for his family’s efforts to constantly check on him, he might have considered relocating abroad just to escape the stress.
He joked about finding a quiet corner in America where no one would bother him.
Despite the emotional toll, he clarified that he still looks after them from a distance, making sure they’re well provided for.
However, his need for solitude and mental clarity has made him avoid face-to-face interactions with them whenever possible.
His comments have sparked mixed reactions online, with many users relating to the pressure of being the main provider in a household while trying to maintain personal growth and mental health.
