Nigerian music executive Paul Okoye, popularly known as Paulo, has fired back at human rights lawyer Deji Adeyanju after the latter accused Afrobeats star Burna Boy of orchestrating the recent arrest of controversial artist Speed Darlington.
Speed Darlington, also known as Akpi, was arrested earlier this week in Owerri, Imo State, marking his second run-in with the police this year. His initial arrest in October 2024 was followed by a five-day detention before being released on bail.
Adeyanju, taking to X (formerly Twitter), alleged that Burna Boy was behind Speed Darlington’s latest legal troubles, sparking outrage among fans and industry insiders.
Paulo wasted no time in defending Burna Boy, posting a heated response on Instagram to discredit Adeyanju’s claims:
“Lawyer Deji or whatever they call you, can you put respect on Burna Boy’s name? Why are you even mentioning Burna Boy’s name? You are nothing more than a social media lawyer! Lawyer my a**. Get your facts right before you open your gutter mouth. Control your client.”
The music executive’s remarks have added fuel to an already contentious situation, drawing a mix of reactions from fans and critics alike.
