Davido Claps Back at TVC Presenter Over Economy Comments: ‘We Are the Real Ambassadors!’

Afrobeats superstar Davido has fired back at TVC television and its presenter Nyma Akashat Zibiri after she criticized his remarks about Nigeria's economy.

The singer had previously described the economy as being in “shambles” during a podcast appearance, cautioning Americans against investing in the country.

Zibiri claimed Davido’s comments undermined President Bola Tinubu’s efforts to attract foreign investors, prompting the singer to respond with a mix of taunts and defiance on X (formerly Twitter).

In his tweets, Davido mocked TVC and took pride in his podcast demeanor:

“Y’all mad because we are the real ambassadors! And that accent during the interview… very demure,” he wrote.

The singer’s response reignited debates about the responsibilities of public figures when discussing national issues, with Davido doubling down on his stance about the state of the economy.
