Popular Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar has issued a public apology to Apostle Johnson Suleman of Omega Fire Ministries, admitting to spreading false allegations that caused him and his family significant distress.
The long-standing feud between Abubakar and Apostle Suleman, which began in 2022, escalated when the actress became bedridden. At the time, her family accused the clergyman of being involved in her illness, leading to widespread controversy on social media.
Although it was widely rumored that the actress was suffering from an autoimmune disease, she refuted the claims by sharing her medical report. The feud became a topic of public interest, with both sides trading accusations.
In a heartfelt letter addressed to the Apostle, Abubakar expressed deep remorse for her actions and sought his forgiveness. She admitted to making false allegations and acknowledged the harm it caused to him, his wife, Dr. Lizzy Suleman, and the leaders of Omega Fire Ministry.
The letter reads in part:
_"I admit that I made false allegations against you and also regret my action and the damage I caused to you, your wife, Dr Lizzy Suleman, your family, and the leaders of the Omega Fire Ministry."_
Abubakar expressed her hope that the apology would serve as a step towards mending the damage done, even though she acknowledges that her words cannot undo the pain caused. She ended the letter by humbly requesting forgiveness.
