Starlink, a global satellite internet provider owned by billionaire Elon Musk is to donate 1000 @Starlink to support the emergency responders and people affected by the flooding in Brazil.
The billionaire disclosed this via his X handle a few hours ago.
Brazil is a country that is prone to flooding due to its vast river systems, tropical climate, and periodic heavy rainfall.
The recent flood engulfed entire cities in the northern part of the Brazil’s Rio Grande do Sul state and it is described by eye witnesses as the worst in recent times.
In 2011, severe flooding in the state Rio. the region in Brazil also experienced one of its worst flooding events in decades. The wetlands were inundated by rising waters, affecting wildlife and local communities.
