Nigerian singer-turned-pastor, Bankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, has shared an inspiring update with his followers: he has successfully undergone a fourth surgery for skin cancer. Banky W took to his Instagram page on Thursday to disclose this personal victory and to offer encouragement to others facing their own battles.
In a heartfelt post, Banky W wrote, “Final Score: Christ 4, Cancer Tumors 0.” He elaborated on his journey, emphasizing the power of faith in overcoming life's challenges. "Sometimes, your faith in God will not prevent the storms from coming… but it will carry you through them. Faith won’t always stop you from hurting, but it will help you heal, and it will help you deal."
He continued, “God never said the weapons wouldn’t form, He promised that they wouldn’t prosper. He never said the enemy wouldn’t come… He promised that when the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of God would raise a standard against him.”
Banky W's message is a testament to resilience and hope, aimed at anyone grappling with seemingly insurmountable challenges. “Posting this testimony to encourage anyone out there who is going through a challenge. It might seem bigger than you, but greater is He that is in you than anything you will face in this world.”
The singer expressed profound gratitude to his wife, family, friends, pastors, and medical team for their unwavering support throughout his ordeal. "We have the victory yet again. Now and forever, in Jesus’ name," he concluded.
This isn't Banky W's first battle with cancer. In 2017, he underwent a third surgery to treat a rare strain of skin cancer, which had resurfaced after first appearing ten years earlier.
Banky W's testimony serves as a beacon of hope, demonstrating that with faith, support, and perseverance, even the most daunting challenges can be overcome.
