Toco, who had garnered attention for his realistic dog costume, was taken aback when real dogs displayed indifference to his canine persona.
Despite his significant investment in his doggie illusion, his efforts to make friends with genuine dogs were met with surprise and a lack of interest.
In an interview with The Sun, Toco shared his disappointment, remarking:
“They seemed a little surprised, and unfortunately, they did not treat me as an equal.”
Despite intermittent online criticism and speculation, he remains resolute in his dedication to animal role-play.
Toco-san responded to judgmental comments with a poignant statement, “I’m just sad that people can think that. I love animals and enjoy play-acting like a collie. This is my hobby so I will carry on.”

In the past, Toco had expressed his desire to find a romantic partner who shares his enthusiasm for dog costumes.
“I think it would be great if something like this existed,” he said.
