Controversial street-hop singer, Portable just sampled some of Asake’s hit single “Organise” to “Azaman.” In his cover, Portable referenced the recent public dispute between Carter Efe and Berri Tiga over the ownership of their hit single’ Machala.’
He also talked about how some entertainment big guns cheat artists in the guise of trying to help them. He spoke from experience as he was involved in a public dispute with dancer, promoter, and media personality Poco Lee after the release of the ‘Zazzuh Zeh’ remix, where Poco Lee claimed the position of the lead artist.
In Azaman, Portable references the recent dispute between Berri Tiga (who wrote and recorded ‘Machala’) and Carter Efe, who promoted and financed the song.
“Machala” has become the subject of a bitter dispute between the two, and it has split opinion, especially between famous artists and influencers.
However, fans have dragged him for sampling the song without Asake’s permission. Asake fans told him to be prepared to give Olamide and Asake 98% of the profit from the song.
The song will likely face copyright issues as Portable uses the beat and melody of Asake’s ‘Organise,’ which means it would likely be taken down from streaming platforms for copyright infringement should he upload it.
Covers are posted on Audiomack, and the song might be available on streaming platforms and music download sites.
