Speed Darlington is not convinced that the result of his boxing match against Carter Efe reflected what happened inside the ring.
The entertainer, who faced Carter Efe in a highly anticipated bout, questioned the judges’ decision after the fight and made it clear that he was unhappy with the way the winner was determined.
For Speed Darlington, the outcome did not tell the full story of the contest. He pointed to his performance during the fight and argued that his opponent should not have been declared the winner based on one significant moment.
“Despite being 20 years older than Carter Efe, look at what I did to him last night. Those judges did Ojoro. I have been watching boxing for years, and you can't use just one blow to win a f!ght", he said.
His comments centred mainly on the judging of the bout. Rather than simply accepting the result, Speed Darlington questioned whether the decision properly considered everything that happened throughout the fight.
The age difference between both men was also part of his argument. At 20 years older than Carter Efe, Speed Darlington acknowledged the physical gap but still believed his performance deserved greater consideration.
The bout had attracted attention because of the personalities involved, with both men bringing their own style and character into the contest. Once the fight ended, however, the focus shifted from the action in the ring to the decision that handed Carter Efe the victory.
Speed Darlington’s complaint was particularly directed at what he described as the judges’ unfair handling of the fight. His use of the word “Ojoro” was his way of expressing his belief that the judging was not fair.
He also referred to his long-standing interest in boxing while explaining why he disagreed with the result. According to him, his understanding of the sport made him question the idea that one blow could settle the outcome of an entire fight.
“you can't use just one blow to win a f!ght,” he said, stressing his position that the judges should consider the overall performance of both fighters rather than focusing on one decisive moment.
Carter Efe, meanwhile, emerged from the bout with the official victory. The result remains the key outcome of the fight, even as Speed Darlington continues to disagree with the decision.
