Nollywood actress Omowunmi Dada has opened up about the kind of relationship she wants, revealing that shared Christian faith is an important condition for anyone who hopes to become her husband.
The actress made the disclosure while speaking with media personality VJ Adams about relationships, marriage and the values she hopes to establish in her future home. Dada explained that religion is not an issue she is willing to compromise on when it comes to choosing a life partner.
For the actress, marriage goes beyond romantic feelings. She wants to build a home where both partners are united by their beliefs and can practise their faith together.
She described the prospect of sharing her spiritual life with her husband as an important part of the family she hopes to have.
Dada said her ideal marriage would be founded on common values, unity and a shared commitment to Christianity. She believes having the same religious foundation would help create the kind of family environment she desires.
The actress also discussed another side of her personality during the interview, reflecting on her experience working on the movie Moremi.
According to her, the production presented a challenge that required her to step outside her usual acting responsibilities and acquire a new skill.
Dada revealed that she had to learn boxing for the project. The experience, she explained, pushed her beyond her comfort zone and demonstrated the extent to which actors sometimes have to prepare themselves physically and mentally for demanding roles.
Away from acting and relationships, the entertainer also spoke warmly about her love for cooking. She described preparing meals for friends as one of the ways she expresses affection and connects with people around her.
Dada explained that her relationship with food and cooking was influenced by her upbringing. Growing up with three older brothers meant that preparing meals was often part of her routine, with food becoming something that was shared among members of the family.
Rather than cooking only for herself, she said she enjoys the communal experience that comes with preparing food and watching other people enjoy it.
Dada began her career in theatre before becoming a familiar face on television and in Nollywood productions.
Her acting credits include projects such as Oya, Omugwo, Oloture, Elesin Oba: The King’s Horseman and Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti. She also gained significant recognition for playing Folake in the television series Jemeji.
Her more recent projects include The Secret Lives of Baba Segi’s Wives, Evi and Okanjuwa.
With her latest comments, Dada has offered fans a glimpse into the personal principles that guide her approach to relationships, while also highlighting the diverse experiences that continue to shape her career as an actress.
