Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu is still recovering from surgery after experiencing unexpected complications, according to an update released by her management team.
The veteran actress's team shared the development on Tuesday, October 28, 2026, alongside a video showing her lying on a hospital bed.
The update provided details about her recovery journey and expressed appreciation to Nigerians and well-wishers who have continued to support her through her health challenges.
According to her management, Nwosu underwent surgery more than three months ago. However, her recovery has not gone as smoothly as expected, as she has encountered complications that have prolonged her healing process.
The team explained that although the actress is still recovering and has yet to return to her usual self, she decided to address the public personally to appreciate everyone who has stood by her during this difficult period.
They wrote that the love, prayers, financial contributions and messages she received from the public had made a significant difference in her journey.
They also expressed gratitude to those who shared her story and helped draw attention to her medical needs.
The management added that the actress and her team are taking each day as it comes, while trusting God for complete healing and the strength to overcome the challenges ahead.
They further appealed to members of the public to continue keeping Nwosu in their thoughts and prayers. Those willing to offer additional financial assistance were also encouraged to support her as she continues her recovery.
Nwosu's health battle became public knowledge in July 2026 when she appealed for financial assistance to undergo three surgeries reportedly estimated to cost N30 million.
The actress disclosed that she had been battling an undisclosed ailment and described the decision to speak publicly about her condition as a difficult one. However, she said she could no longer remain silent because she urgently needed medical intervention.
Following her appeal, several Nigerians and public figures expressed concern and offered support. The Abia State Government reportedly donated N25 million towards her medical treatment, providing significant assistance as she prepared for surgery.
Veteran actress Eucharia Anunobi also showed support for her colleague by raising more than N100,000 during a church gathering in Asaba and transferring the money to Nwosu's account.
In a previous update in July, the actress's management said she was doing well and preparing for her first surgery, while acknowledging that additional public support was still needed.
Nwosu, who has enjoyed a longstanding career in the Nigerian entertainment industry, previously underwent a successful surgery in 2013.
As she continues her recovery, her management has reiterated its appreciation for the public's kindness and urged supporters to remain hopeful and prayerful for her complete healing.
