Gospel musician Nathaniel Bassey is expanding his creative career beyond music as he prepares to make his feature film acting debut in Beautiful Feet, an upcoming faith-based drama expected to arrive in Nigerian cinemas on February 19, 2027.

The project marks a new chapter for Nathaniel Bassey, who has built a strong reputation through his worship songs, gospel ministry and Christian-themed musical performances.

Directed by Chim Onyebilanma and produced by CAP Studios, Beautiful Feet centres on a medical doctor from Lagos who travels to rural communities in Northern Nigeria to offer medical assistance and serve people in need.

The storyline explores themes of faith, compassion, sacrifice and service, highlighting the experiences of a professional who moves beyond the familiar environment of the city to make a difference in underserved communities.

Nathaniel Bassey joins an ensemble cast featuring Tuke Morgan, Adebola Timmy, Funke Kate, Seun Adejumobi, Adeyemi Joseph and Chidinma Umeh. However, details concerning the specific character he will portray have not been disclosed.

The film's production company, CAP Studios, is an independent outfit dedicated to developing faith-based African films and television projects for audiences across the continent and internationally.

Chim Onyebilanma, the filmmaker behind the project, has previously worked on productions including Wounded and Treasure Hunt. His filmmaking approach focuses on African experiences, human stories and issues connected to social justice.

Nathaniel Bassey's involvement in the production represents a significant transition from his established career in gospel music to acting for the big screen.

He is widely recognised for popular worship songs such as Imela, Onise Iyanu and Olowogbogboro, which have earned him considerable attention among gospel music audiences.

Beyond his music, Nathaniel Bassey is also known for organising the Hallelujah Challenge, an online prayer and praise gathering that attracts participants from Nigeria and other parts of the world.

His work in Christian ministry has remained a major part of his public profile, making his appearance in a faith-centred film a natural extension of the themes associated with his music and spiritual activities.

Although the full details of his contribution to Beautiful Feet remain undisclosed, his feature film debut introduces a new dimension to his creative pursuits.

With its focus on medical service, faith and the needs of rural communities, the production is expected to bring these themes to Nigerian cinema audiences when it opens in February 2027.

For Nathaniel Bassey, the project offers an opportunity to explore storytelling through a different medium while reaching audiences beyond the gospel music scene.
