Mark Vincent Otse, the brother of VeryDarkMan, has challenged those questioning his finances after he announced plans to find an apartment worth ₦2 million for his artiste, insisting that he and his brother have moved beyond poverty.

The disagreement began after Mark spoke about finding accommodation for the artiste he works with. Some people questioned the amount he intended to spend, while others suggested that he was searching for an inexpensive apartment for himself. Comments about his relationship with VeryDarkMan also came up, with some critics claiming that his brother’s controversies were beginning to affect him.

Mark was not pleased with the assumptions and responded by pointing to the financial progress he believes he and VDM have made over the years.

“I’ve seen people calling me out after I said I’m looking for an apartment worth 2M Naira for my artiste & they came out saying I’m looking for a house that cheap for myself & the sins of my brother VDM is catching up with me but they forget I & my brother VDM have defeated poverty & I have 2M Naira to spend on someone that’s not even myself now think of how much I have to spend on myself”.

In his response, Mark argued that people were drawing conclusions about his personal finances without considering that the apartment was intended for someone else. He maintained that being willing to spend ₦2 million on accommodation for his artiste should not be mistaken for an indication of what he can afford for himself.

He also pointed to his current lifestyle, including the expensive clothes and designer items he wears, as part of his argument that his financial circumstances have changed. According to his response, the criticism overlooks the progress he and his brother have made.

The apartment budget has become the main point of disagreement, but Mark’s reaction suggests that he sees the comments as an attempt to question his financial standing rather than a simple discussion about the cost of accommodation.

His mention of VeryDarkMan also brings their relationship into the picture. VDM is known for his outspoken online presence and frequent public disputes, and his name often attracts attention. Mark, however, insisted that the criticism directed at him should not be used to suggest that he is struggling financially.

He did not provide further information about the apartment, such as its location or whether he had already found a suitable property. There were also no additional details about the artiste’s accommodation needs.

For Mark, the important point was that he was prepared to spend ₦2 million on someone other than himself. He challenged critics to consider what that decision says about his own finances, maintaining that the amount should not be treated as the limit of what he can afford.

His response ultimately came down to a defence of his financial progress and his decision to provide accommodation for his artiste. Rather than accept the assumptions being made about his finances, he insisted that he and VDM had overcome poverty and that his spending on another person should not be confused with his personal spending power.
