Media entrepreneur Mo Abudu has expanded her entertainment brand to the United Kingdom with the opening of EbonyLife Place London, a new destination designed to bring together cinema, food, music, fashion and African art.
The new venue officially opens in London as Mo Abudu introduces a concept that aims to give audiences a space where different forms of entertainment and culture can be experienced under one roof.
The launch follows the establishment of EbonyLife Place in Lagos, which has become a destination combining cinema, hospitality, restaurants and event facilities.
The London opening is being marked with a special programme running from Friday, October 9, to Sunday, October 11.
Activities are scheduled to take place each day between 2pm and 10pm, giving visitors an opportunity to explore the venue and participate in its entertainment offerings.
According to the announcement, guests will have access to a selection of short films and special cinema screenings throughout the opening weekend.
The programme also includes live music performances and DJs, adding a nightlife element to the cultural experience.
Food and hospitality are another major part of the new venue. Visitors can dine and enjoy drinks while exploring the different spaces within EbonyLife Place London.
The location features the Afrobeat Restaurant, Fèhìntì Lounge and Maaji Bar, providing several options for guests to relax and socialise.
The project also places significant attention on African creativity. The Living Wall Art Gallery will showcase contemporary African art, while Zuri Retail forms part of the venue’s wider offering. Together, the different facilities are intended to create an environment that connects entertainment with culture and lifestyle.
Mo Abudu acquired the London property in March 2025 and subsequently transformed it into a cinema and cultural centre.
One of the key facilities is the Amani Auditorium, which forms part of the venue’s cinema and entertainment infrastructure.
The new London location is an extension of the EbonyLife Place concept first introduced in Lagos in 2019.
The Victoria Island facility brought cinema, restaurants, hospitality, event spaces and entertainment activities together in one location.
Through EbonyLife Media, which she founded, Abudu has also played a major role in promoting African stories and talent. The company has been associated with productions including Fifty, The Wedding Party and Òlòtūré.
EbonyLife Place London is expected to provide another platform for African and Black cinema while creating opportunities for audiences to engage with music, fashion, food and visual art.
With its combination of entertainment and cultural experiences, the London venue represents another step in Mo Abudu’s effort to build spaces where African creativity can reach international audiences.
