Nigerian dancer and entertainer, Poco Lee, is set to appear for a plea hearing in the United Kingdom on February 8, 2027, while the trial in his ongoing case has been scheduled to begin on March 8, 2027.

The development was disclosed by Benjamin Kuti, popularly known as Oluomo of Derby, after he attended court proceedings on Tuesday concerning the case involving the Nigerian entertainer.

Kuti, who has been providing updates on the matter, said he was present in court to follow proceedings and gain clarity on the next steps in the legal process.

“I was in court today, as I mentioned in my last tweet, regarding the case involving one of our Nigerian brothers, Poco Lee,” Kuti said.

The latest update comes weeks after reports emerged that Poco Lee was being held on remand in a United Kingdom prison and was expected to appear before the court for a plea hearing.

DAILY POST had earlier reported on August 24 that Kuti confirmed the dancer’s remand status while noting that a court appearance was expected in September.

However, following Tuesday’s proceedings, Kuti revealed that the plea hearing had now been moved to February 8, 2027, with the full trial expected to commence one month later.

He urged members of the public to allow the judicial process to take its course rather than relying on public discussions, rumours or unverified claims surrounding the case.

According to him, the principle of presumption of innocence must guide conversations about the matter until the court reaches a final decision.

“Everyone is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and that principle must be respected throughout the entire process,” he said.

The case has attracted public attention since reports about Poco Lee’s legal situation emerged, with fans and members of the entertainment industry closely following developments.

Poco Lee, whose real name is Iwe Pascal, is one of Nigeria’s most recognised dancers and entertainers, known for his energetic performances, viral dance moves and collaborations with several Afrobeats artistes.

Over the years, he has built a strong reputation within Nigeria’s entertainment industry, working alongside some of the country’s biggest music stars and gaining international recognition through his dance content.

The latest court update means that the legal process will continue into 2027, with the upcoming plea hearing expected to determine the next stage of proceedings.

As the matter progresses, Kuti maintained that public commentary should not replace the formal legal process, stressing the importance of allowing the court to examine the facts before reaching any conclusion.

The entertainer’s supporters have continued to monitor developments while awaiting further updates from the court.
