Former Lagos socialite Mandy Kiss has revealed that she is taking a different path in her life after returning to Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, where she is now back with her family and helping her mother at her shop.
The move marks a major change from the lifestyle many people associated with Mandy in Lagos. Rather than dwell on how things turned out, she appears to be focused on moving forward, reconnecting with her family and making better decisions.
Mandy spoke about her current situation while reflecting on some of the choices she made in the past. She acknowledged that she made mistakes and said she understands that people may have their opinions about the way her life has changed.
However, she made it clear that she is not allowing embarrassment or public opinion to stop her from rebuilding her life.
“I later came back to my mummy’s shop, later came back to Ijebu Ode. I am not saying you shouldn’t mock me, you are free to mock me. It is my fault but learn from my own mistake.”
For Mandy, returning home is not something she sees as the end of her journey. Instead, she is presenting it as an opportunity to start again and make choices that work better for her.
She also had a message for people who constantly worry about what others will say about their decisions. According to her, life should not be lived entirely around the expectations or opinions of other people.
“It is your life so do you. Don’t leave on other peoples opinion, your happiness should come first in what ever you are doing.”
The reality of starting over can be difficult, especially when a person has previously lived a very public life. Mandy, however, said she is comfortable with where she is at the moment and is choosing to concentrate on what makes her happy.
She encouraged people to pursue things that give them peace and fulfilment instead of allowing outside opinions to dictate their choices.
“Do what ever makes you happy and live your life. I am accepted back at home now because of how well I take care of them.”
Her return to Ijebu Ode has also brought her closer to her family. Mandy said being able to take care of her loved ones has helped her regain acceptance at home, giving her a sense of belonging as she begins this new phase.
Rather than presenting her current situation as something to hide, Mandy is choosing to speak openly about the changes in her life. Her message is centred on accepting mistakes, learning from them and finding the courage to begin again.
For now, she is back home, helping at her mother’s shop and taking life one step at a time.
