Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has criticised the founder of Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman, over his reported comments about the administration of Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, and claims of uninterrupted electricity supply in the state.
Ogala expressed her displeasure in a series of social media posts, where she questioned Suleman’s role as a pastor and accused some religious leaders of misleading Nigerians with claims that, according to her, do not reflect the realities on the ground.
The actress also alleged that she has extensive knowledge about Suleman and warned that she could make further revelations about the cleric if she decides to speak publicly.
Ogala specifically referenced an alleged incident involving Suleman at Protea Hotel in Lagos, claiming that she knew details of what happened, including the room numbers. She suggested that she could disclose the information at a later date.
She wrote: “Most people you see that call themselves pastors are lazy people who couldn’t work but decided to call themselves and start deceiving by claiming God called them.
“Some even go the extra mile to get involved in voodoo.
“Suleman Johnson, what is his work? Doors, that man looks and behaves like a pastor?
“Suleman, I know a lot that will shock the world.
“Forget that I said I don’t know you; I know a lot that happened at Protea Hotel, Lagos, including room numbers.
“How dare you come to say that there’s 24-hour light in Abia, and you claim you weren’t campaigning?”
Ogala’s criticism was also directed at what she described as attempts to portray a different picture of life in Abia to Nigerians living outside the country.
According to the actress, people in the diaspora may rely on information from public figures when forming opinions about developments in Nigeria, while those living within the state experience the situation directly.
She insisted that residents of Abia are still facing difficulties and questioned Suleman’s reported praise of Governor Otti’s administration.
“Not under my watch will I allow people like Johnson Suleman to deceive my people anymore; their target is people in the diaspora. The main people living on the ground in Abia are suffering.
“You haven’t been to Abia, and you openly affirmed Alex Oti.
“Suleman, it will shock you when I decide to expose you to the whole world.
“I’m not like the others you experienced. The world knows I don’t lie. I speak with evidence.
“This is a direct attack on the people of Abia and me, and it will not be tolerated.
“Bring your police and judiciary. I will face you head-on.”
The actress’s comments have brought attention to the disagreement between her and the cleric, particularly over the reported description of electricity supply in Abia and Suleman’s position on Otti’s administration.
Ogala also appeared to question the distinction between praising a government and actively campaigning for it, asking Suleman how he could speak positively about the administration while claiming that he was not involved in political campaigning.
Her remarks further highlighted her disagreement with what she considers an inaccurate representation of conditions in Abia. She maintained that her criticism was motivated by her concern for people living in the state and vowed not to remain silent over statements she believes misrepresent their experiences.
At the centre of the controversy are Ogala’s allegations and Suleman’s reported comments about Abia. The claims concerning the alleged hotel incident and other accusations made by the actress remain allegations and have not been independently established based on the information provided.
