Nollywood actress and entrepreneur Tonto Dikeh has reflected on her reconciliation with her former husband, Olakunle Churchill, revealing that her personal journey has inspired her to help other women pursue forgiveness, healing and peace in their relationships.

Dikeh, who was previously married to Churchill, said her decision to reconcile with her former husband prompted hundreds of women to reach out to her with questions about how she was able to forgive, let go of past hurts and move forward.

According to the actress, many of the women who contacted her were dealing with painful experiences in their own relationships and wanted to understand how they could find peace after going through similar challenges.

Dikeh Says 10 Women Have Reconciled

The actress explained that she was unable to respond to everyone who contacted her individually.

However, she decided to personally reach out to women whose experiences closely mirrored what she had gone through.

Dikeh revealed that at least 10 women have since reconciled with their partners, describing the development as a testimony of how God has transformed her own painful experience into an opportunity to help others.

“Ever since my reconciliation with my ex-husband, hundreds of women have reached out asking the same question: How did you learn to forgive?” she said.

“While I couldn’t reply to everyone, I reached out to those whose pain mirrored my own. Today, to the glory of God, at least 10 women have been reconciled, restoring peace, healing hearts, and stepping into healthy co-parenting. God has truly turned my personal story into a tool for restoration.”

‘Forgiveness Is For You’

Dikeh also used the opportunity to encourage people carrying resentment as a result of painful experiences in their relationships.

She argued that forgiveness should not necessarily be viewed as something done for the person who caused the pain, but as a way for the person who was hurt to release themselves from emotional burdens.

“If you are carrying bitterness today, please hear this,” she said.

“Forgiveness is never for the person who hurt you; it is for you. It is the key to moving your life forward. God will not inflict pain on others just because we are hurting.”

According to the actress, people have a responsibility to release bitterness and free themselves from the emotional weight associated with past experiences.

“It is our own responsibility to release that weight and set ourselves free,” she added.

Dikeh Speaks On Closure And Healing

The actress further shared her belief that genuine closure does not always come from the people involved in a painful situation.

“True closure doesn’t come from people; it comes from God,” she said.

Dikeh referenced her Christian faith while encouraging people who have experienced difficult seasons to remain hopeful about the future.

She said she believes God can restore the years people may feel they have lost to pain, disappointment and broken relationships.

“He promises to restore the years that the cankerworm has eaten. Not just days or weeks, but years. Every tear you’ve shed and every year spent in pain will be turned into a powerful testimony,” she added.

She Prays For Family Restoration

Dikeh also offered a prayer for women who are currently seeking peace, healing and restoration within their families.

“To every woman praying for peace, healing, and family restoration: may my story be a beacon of hope for you and yours. Amen,” she said.

The actress and Churchill’s relationship attracted significant public attention during their marriage and subsequent separation.

The former couple share a son, and their reconciliation has since become an important part of Dikeh’s public discussions about forgiveness, family and personal growth.

Promoting Healthy Co-Parenting

Beyond reconciliation between partners, Dikeh highlighted the importance of healthy co-parenting for parents who may no longer be together but still have children to raise.

Her experience, she suggested, has shown her that resolving bitterness can help create a healthier environment for children and allow separated parents to work together more peacefully.

For Dikeh, an experience that once brought pain has evolved into an opportunity to encourage other women facing broken relationships and difficult family circumstances.

By sharing her journey, she hopes those struggling with resentment can find the strength to pursue healing and peace where possible.

She also believes her experience can serve as encouragement to women praying for family restoration, reminding them that painful chapters do not necessarily have to define the rest of their lives.
