Poco Lee’s September Court Date Confirmed As He Remains On Remand in UK

Nigerian dancer and entertainer Poco Lee is expected back in court in September as proceedings continue over allegations of sexual assault in the United Kingdom.

The development was disclosed by the Oluomo of Derby, who said Poco Lee is currently being held on remand in a UK prison. He also confirmed that the next court appearance is expected during the second week of September.

The upcoming appearance is expected to be a plea hearing, an important stage in criminal proceedings where the accused is asked to indicate whether they plead guilty or not guilty to the offence they are accused of.

The Oluomo of Derby explained that he intends to be present at the proceedings as part of his support for members of the Nigerian community living in the UK.

He said:

“I can confirm that Poco Lee is currently on remand in a UK prison. His next court date is scheduled for the second week of September, when he is expected to have a plea hearing. At this hearing, he will typically enter a plea of either guilty meaning he admits to the offence or not guilty, meaning he denies the offence. 

‎I will also be attending the court proceedings as part of my support for the Nigerian community in the UK, to ensure that our fellow Nigerian receives the appropriate support during this difficult period of his life. It is important that we allow the legal process to take its course. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.”

The statement comes after reports emerged linking Poco Lee to allegations of sexual assault in the UK. However, the allegations have not been determined by the court, and the proceedings are still ongoing.

With the next hearing scheduled for September, attention will now turn to the court as Poco Lee is expected to formally indicate his plea.

For the Nigerian community in the UK, the matter has also highlighted the importance of supporting people involved in difficult legal situations while allowing the justice system to carry out its work.

The Oluomo of Derby’s decision to attend the proceedings, according to his statement, is intended to provide support during what he described as a difficult period.
