Delta State Governor’s aide, Ossai Ovie, has questioned VeryDarkMan over promises the social media personality reportedly made about bringing products directly from China for students and other Nigerians.

Ossai raised the issue while expressing disappointment that the products he expected to see following the earlier announcement have not appeared.

According to him, the promise was made during VeryDarkMan’s dispute with B Lord. At the time, VeryDarkMan reportedly spoke about plans to begin importing goods from China, with students and Nigerians expected to benefit from the initiative.

One of the areas that attracted attention was the proposed importation of mobile phones. Ossai recalled that VeryDarkMan had also indicated that the phones would be sold at prices lower than what customers were paying at Computer Village, one of Nigeria’s major technology and phone markets.

However, months after the promise, Ossai said he has not seen evidence of the planned business operation or the products that were expected to come into the country.

He questioned what had happened to the plans and made it clear that he expected the promises to translate into something Nigerians could actually benefit from.

Ossai said: “When verydarkman was fghting B Lord, he said he was going to start importing things from china for students/Nigerians and also phones will be cheaper than all the prices in computer village. Till now, we never still see those things. I am highly disappointed in Very Dark Man.” - SSA to Delta State governor Ossai Ovie

The statement puts the focus on the difference between announcing an initiative and eventually delivering it. For Nigerians who may have been interested in cheaper phones and other imported goods, such a plan would naturally raise expectations, particularly if it promised prices below those available in established markets.

Ossai’s criticism centres on the fact that the proposed China-to-Nigeria supply arrangement has, in his view, not materialised in the way it was presented. Rather than discussing the promise as a future plan, he is now asking why there has been no visible outcome.
