HEARTBREAKING: Taiwo Hassan ‘Ogogo’ Loses Battle to Cancer

Taiwo Hassan, better known to many as Ogogo, is  de.ad.

The veteran actor’s death was announced by his daughter, Kira Taiwo, during an Instagram Live session on Sunday, August 23.

Ogogo had been receiving treatment after his family disclosed that he was battling stage-four cancer. His daughters had spent the past few days seeking medical help, saying they were looking for specialists and treatment options that could help their father.

The family had also pushed back against earlier reports of his death. His daughter Lima Taiwo had dismissed those reports on August 18, saying at the time that her father was still alive.

Ogogo’s condition later became more serious, with Kira speaking openly about the pain he was experiencing and pleading with anyone who could help with his treatment.

His death marks the loss of one of the familiar faces of Yoruba cinema, with a career that spanned several decades.
