Nollywood Actress Lilian Esoro Loses Father, Ferdinand Collins Esoro

Nollywood actress Lilian Esoro is mourning the death of her father, Ferdinand Collins Esoro, who passed away suddenly just weeks after she suffered the loss of a close friend.

The actress announced the sad news on Sunday through a heartfelt message shared alongside a photograph of her late father.

 She explained that she had been trying to cope with the earlier loss when another painful tragedy struck her family.

Lilian described her father as a deeply important figure in her life and revealed that he was her only surviving parent.

She also credited him with playing a major role in her Christian faith, saying he was the person who introduced her to Christ and taught her the importance of prayer and studying the Bible.

According to the actress, she has attempted to keep herself occupied through work, social activities and event planning since her father’s death. However, she admitted that staying busy has not been enough to take away the pain.

She explained that grief has affected her differently from day to day. While there are moments when she is able to feel happy and carry on with normal activities, she said sadness sometimes returns unexpectedly and becomes difficult to handle.

Despite the emotional pain, Lilian said her faith has continued to give her strength. She expressed her belief in God and thanked family members and friends who have supported her with prayers, love and encouragement during the difficult period.

Lilian had publicly celebrated her father in September 2025 when he marked his 80th birthday. At the time, she praised him as a leader and devoted Christian while expressing gratitude for the spiritual foundation he gave her.

The actress had previously lost her mother in August 2021, making the passing of her father another devastating personal loss.

Lilian Esoro is recognised for her work in Nollywood, including her appearance in the popular television series Clinic Matters. Beyond acting, she is also involved in business and continues to remain active in the entertainment industry.

As she navigates another period of grief, the actress has received messages of sympathy and support from loved ones and members of the public.
