Nollywood actress, filmmaker and producer Funke Akindele is preparing for another major cinema outing with her latest project, The Four: No One Fights Alone, scheduled to hit cinemas globally on December 11, 2026.
The upcoming production is being presented by Funke Akindele Network and FAAN TV, with FilmOne Entertainment handling its distribution. Akindele takes on multiple responsibilities on the project, serving as its writer, director and producer.
The Four centres on relationships between women and examines themes including friendship, motherhood, resilience and the strength people draw from one another during difficult periods.
The story is expected to explore how personal relationships can shape people's decisions and provide support when circumstances become challenging.
Akindele has assembled a large ensemble of established Nollywood actors and other entertainment personalities for the project. The cast includes Bisola Aiyeola, Chioma Akpotha, Richard Mofe Damijo, Timini Egbuson, Lateef Adedimeji, Ali Nuhu, Uzor Arukwe, Ronke Oshodi-Oke, Antar Laniyan and Wunmi Toriola.
The film also features appearances from musicians and other performers, including award-winning singer Waje, Afrobeats artiste Shoday, Samuel Banks, Kolapo Omotosho and Ayomide Iwasokun.
Speaking about the production, Akindele explained that audiences have become increasingly interested in stories that combine entertainment with experiences they can relate to.
She suggested that The Four was created with this expectation in mind, focusing on relationships and experiences that remain relevant to everyday life.
The new project arrives at an important point in Akindele's career, following the impressive theatrical performance of her 2025 film, Behind The Scenes.
The movie achieved a major milestone in January 2026 after its Nigerian box office earnings surpassed ₦2 billion. It eventually ended its theatrical run with more than ₦2.1 billion in ticket sales, making it the first Nollywood production to cross the ₦2 billion mark.
Behind The Scenes also moved ahead of Everybody Loves Jenifa to become the highest-grossing film in West Africa at the time.
The achievement further strengthened Akindele's position as one of Nigeria's most commercially successful filmmakers.
Her previous box office successes include A Tribe Called Judah, Battle on Buka Street and Omo Ghetto: The Saga, all of which have contributed to her reputation for producing commercially successful Nigerian films.
With The Four: No One Fights Alone, Akindele is once again combining an extensive cast with a story built around familiar human experiences.
The December release date also positions the film for the busy festive cinema period, when Nigerian audiences traditionally turn out in large numbers for local productions.
As anticipation builds, The Four will be closely watched to see whether it can match the commercial success of Akindele's recent projects when it arrives in cinemas on December 11.
