Afrobeats singer Tekno has shared his opinion on why many relationships no longer seem to last, saying the idea of love and marriage has changed over the past few years.

Speaking in an interview, the music star argued that marriages are not as stable as they once were, insisting that something changed after 2020. According to him, the number of broken homes has continued to rise, making lasting relationships appear less common than they used to be.

"Love is not the same since 2020. Marriages don't work. Even some of our legends' wives are getting ch0pped by younger men," Tekno said.

The singer suggested that the challenges facing relationships today go beyond ordinary disagreements between couples. In his view, many people no longer approach love, commitment and marriage the same way previous generations did, making it more difficult for relationships to stand the test of time.

Although Tekno did not mention any names while making the statement, he claimed that the trend has become so widespread that even families many people once admired are not exempt. He pointed to older and well-known figures, saying some of their wives are now leaving them for younger men, which he believes says a lot about how much relationships have changed.

For years, conversations about failed marriages, infidelity and divorce have continued to dominate discussions both within and outside the entertainment industry. While some people blame changing values, others believe financial pressure, social media, unrealistic expectations and poor communication have all contributed to the growing number of broken relationships.

Tekno's comments add another perspective to that conversation. Rather than focusing on one particular reason, he believes the overall nature of love and marriage has shifted, making long-term commitment much harder than it used to be.

The singer's view is likely to divide opinions. Some people may agree with his belief that relationships today face challenges that were less common in the past, while others may argue that every marriage has its own unique circumstances and should not be judged by a general trend.

Whether people agree with him or not, Tekno's statement reflects a conversation that continues to come up whenever love, commitment and marriage are discussed. As more couples go their separate ways and new relationships begin under different circumstances, the debate over what has changed and why shows no sign of ending anytime soon.
