Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham says trust has never been an issue in her marriage, even when her work requires her to share romantic scenes with other actors.
While appearing on The Morayo Show, Toyin was asked if her husband ever gets jealous because she is constantly in the public eye and whether there are certain boundaries they have agreed not to cross.
She said jealousy has never really been a problem between them, although she recalled one occasion when she came across something on his social media page that caught her attention.
“Nah. But there was just a day, I saw one post on his page, and it was like hmm, nonsense you understand? So, but no,” she said.
Asked specifically if her husband had any issue with her kissing fellow actor Gabriel Afolayan in a movie, Toyin dismissed the idea, saying there was nothing to worry about.
“I can even kiss anybody. Gabriel is my guy,” she said.
She added that the wives of many of her colleagues are also comfortable around her because they know where she stands when it comes to relationships.
“Most of my colleagues’ wives are comfortable with me. I can do every other thing, but adultery is not even one of it. God forbid it. I don’t do it,” she said.
The actress also spoke about why December is usually the busiest period for Nollywood cinema releases. According to her, more people are available to go to the movies during the holiday season, making it an attractive time for producers.
Still, she believes recent successes at the box office have shown that audiences will support good films regardless of the time of year.
“December, everybody is at home. But God just showed us how powerful He is. I’m proud of Dami and Blessing. It did over ₦700 million, and it’s not even festive period,” she said.
For Toyin Abraham, trust and understanding remain at the heart of her marriage. She says both she and her husband understand the demands of her career, allowing her to take on movie roles without letting them affect their relationship.
