'I Introduced Kamo State To Funke Akindele' – Tobi Makinde Clears The Air

For months, there have been different assumptions about Tobi Makinde's relationship with actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele, especially after comedian Kamo State became one of the familiar faces around the award-winning actress. Makinde has now offered his own account of how everything began, insisting that many of the stories people have believed are far from accurate.

During an interview on Yanga 89.9 FM, the actor spoke about the narrative that has followed him in recent times. According to him, he was surprised to hear people suggest that Kamo State had taken his place in Funke Akindele's circle because that was never the reality.

Makinde explained that he was actually the bridge between the two entertainers, revealing that Kamo State first met Funke Akindele through him. He said the claims left him puzzled because they overlooked how their relationship started.

"It was through me Kamo State met Actress Funke Akindele," Makinde stated. "I see when lots of people were saying it was Kamo that took my place at Madam Funke Akindele’s side", he said.

The actor made it clear that the story being repeated in different quarters does not reflect what truly happened. In his view, there was never a situation where Kamo State replaced him, as many people had assumed. Instead, he maintained that he was the one who introduced the comedian to Funke Akindele long before such claims began to circulate.

Makinde's explanation also comes after months of speculation about his relationship with the filmmaker. Questions about where they stood became louder after Funke Akindele was absent from his wedding, with many interpreting it as a sign that something had gone wrong between them.

Despite those assumptions, Makinde has consistently maintained that there is no bad blood between them. He has previously explained that Funke Akindele was occupied with work commitments at the time of his wedding, making it difficult for her to attend. For him, her absence was never an indication that their relationship had broken down.

His latest comments further reinforce that position. Rather than dwell on rumours, Makinde chose to explain how Kamo State became connected to Funke Akindele and why the popular narrative surrounding the three of them is inaccurate.

By recounting how the introduction happened, the actor hopes to put an end to the misconception that has lingered for months. His account paints a different picture from the one many people have believed, making it clear that his relationship with Funke Akindele did not end because someone else took his place.

For Makinde, the facts are straightforward. He introduced Kamo State to Funke Akindele, and the suggestion that the comedian replaced him is simply not true.
