Media personality Femi Afolabi-Brown has spoken in support of content creators Peller and Jarvis, saying their approach to love and marriage reflects values that deserve recognition.
During a recent discussion, Afolabi-Brown pointed to the couple's decision to abstain from premarital sex and their commitment to getting married properly as reasons he believes they have laid a strong foundation for their future together. According to him, such choices are becoming increasingly uncommon, making them worthy of appreciation.
Rather than focusing on the popularity surrounding the couple, Afolabi-Brown said his attention was on the principles they have chosen to uphold in their relationship. He believes those values make them an example for younger people preparing for marriage.
"They need to be celebrated for such values... because I perceive them as role models for the next generation, especially when it comes to marital values."
Explaining further, he listed the reasons behind his position, saying the couple's relationship is built on three important decisions.
He said:
"Because they said no to premarital sex, one. Two, because they’re actually in love. Three, because they decided to get married properly. That's what they call a solid foundation."
His comments centred on the importance of beginning a marriage with shared commitment and mutual understanding rather than placing emphasis on other factors. For him, the couple's public stance on waiting until marriage and taking the traditional path into married life reflects intentional choices that should not be overlooked.
Afolabi-Brown also addressed the doubts that some people have expressed about the couple's claim that they abstained from sex before marriage. While acknowledging that many people may question such declarations, he said he sees no reason to reject what the couple have publicly stated.
"That's what they have said and I will believe what they have said. I choose to believe them", he said.
His position is based on accepting the couple's own account of their relationship rather than making assumptions without evidence. He maintained that if Peller and Jarvis have publicly said they waited until marriage, he is willing to take them at their word.
The comments have added another perspective to conversations about relationships, marriage and personal values, with Afolabi-Brown maintaining that choices rooted in commitment and discipline deserve acknowledgement when they are made publicly and consistently.
