Veteran Nollywood actor Dele Odule is preparing to unveil his much-anticipated film village located in Ijebu Oru, marking a significant milestone in his decades-long career in the Nigerian film industry.

Ahead of its official launch, the respected actor recently hosted his colleague and mentee, Muyiwa Ademola, who was given a private tour of the expansive facility. The visit offered a glimpse into what is expected to become a major creative hub for filmmakers and content creators.

In a video shared online, Muyiwa Ademola was seen arriving at the site, visibly impressed as Dele Odule personally guided him through different sections of the film village. The clip captured moments of admiration as the younger actor took in the scale and creativity of the project.

Reacting after the tour, Muyiwa did not hide his excitement, describing the development as a remarkable achievement by a “living legend.” He praised the vision behind the project and commended Dele Odule for investing in a structure that could benefit the industry at large.

“What an amazing project! Went visiting my Mentor’s facility in Ijebu Oru! What an awesome effort from one of our living legends himself. Though it hasn’t been officially unveiled yet, I just have to let you get a feel for what to expect. It is such a beautiful, creative base… Prepare to go with us on this journey. Congratulations once again, boss,” he wrote.

Although details of the full features are yet to be officially released, the facility is said to include multiple creative spaces designed to support film production, storytelling, and artistic development. The initiative reflects a growing trend among Nollywood veterans who are investing in infrastructure to strengthen the industry.

Dele Odule’s film village joins a list of similar projects by prominent figures in the Yoruba film sector, aimed at building sustainable ecosystems for movie production in Nigeria.

Just recently, Yoruba filmmakers celebrated Sunday Esan, who unveiled his own film village under Okiki Films and Records International. The development was widely applauded by colleagues who see such investments as crucial for the growth of Nollywood.

Veteran actor Jide Kosoko had also earlier expressed admiration for Dele Odule’s project after visiting the Ile Asa complex. He noted that he looks forward to seeing the facility fully completed and operational, describing it as a source of pride for the industry.

Likewise, filmmaker Femi Adebayo had shown support for similar initiatives when he visited the film village of Kunle Afolayan. The visit highlighted the growing culture of collaboration and mutual encouragement among Nollywood practitioners.

In another example, actor Ibrahim Chatta previously hosted officials of the Nigeria Police Force at his own film village in Oyo State. The visit focused on discussions around community security, anti-piracy measures, and the safe use of props in film production.

The rise of film villages across Nigeria signals a shift toward structured filmmaking environments, where creators can access purpose-built locations rather than relying solely on improvised sets. These developments are also expected to boost local economies by creating jobs and attracting tourism.

As anticipation builds for the official unveiling of Dele Odule’s project, many industry observers believe the facility will play a key role in shaping the future of Nollywood, particularly in the southwestern region.

For Dele Odule, the film village represents more than just a personal achievement—it is a legacy project aimed at nurturing creativity, preserving culture, and empowering the next generation of filmmakers.
