Tonto Dikeh has once again warmed hearts with a powerful act of generosity after sponsoring the education of a young student and empowering the boy’s father with financial support.
The Nollywood actress shared the touching story with her followers on social media, explaining that the life-changing gesture was inspired by a promise she made during an evangelism outreach.
According to her, the outreach took place at a junior secondary school in Durumi, where she encountered several students and felt moved to make a difference in the life of one particular boy.
During the visit, Tonto revealed that she had promised to sponsor the student’s education from Junior Secondary School 1 all the way to the university level.
Determined to keep her word, the actress later returned to the school with members of her team to fulfil the commitment.
While speaking about the experience, she explained that the visit was not only about fulfilling a promise but also about extending help to other students who needed support.
During the outreach, several pupils were given school supplies such as bags, sandals and other essential learning materials to make their educational journey easier.
However, the moment that touched many online was when the actress met the student’s father.
The man, who is a widower, is currently raising three children on his own.
After hearing his story and understanding the challenges he faces while trying to provide for his family, Tonto said she felt compelled to do even more.
Moved by his situation, she gifted the father the sum of ₦1,000,000 to help him start a small business.
According to her, the goal of the support was to give the man a stable source of income that would allow him to care for his children and support their future.
Beyond helping the family directly, Tonto also took steps to improve the learning environment for other students at the school.
She announced that she had ordered ten laptops that would be delivered to the institution to support digital learning and enhance teaching.
The actress explained that the donation was part of her broader mission to combine faith with meaningful action.
She stressed that true acts of service should go beyond words and should focus on making tangible changes in people’s lives.
In her words, the outreach represented what the Gospel truly looks like when practiced through compassion and generosity.
