 Nollywood actress Debbie Shokoya has publicly dismissed viral claims suggesting that popular Fuji musician Obesere is her biological father.

I have never met Obesere before, and you claim I said he’s my biological father? Don’t I look like my father? Am I not my biological father’s replica?” Debbie questioned in her video, expressing frustration over the circulation of false information.

Debbie also called on social media users and bloggers to exercise caution and verify their sources before sharing content.

“Obesere is not my biological father. Please stop spreading fake news! Stop writing or posting things I never said. 

Some commentators do not even think well enough to know that these things are fake; they start to throw abuses,” she stated. 

She added, “I’ve never said or written this, nor did I cry out as they claimed. Please stop spreading false news. Bloggers should also post this video the same way they were quick to jump on that misconception.”

The actress’s statement comes amid growing concern about the impact of viral misinformation on public figures in the entertainment industry.
