Tinubu Remains Best Choice for Nigeria — Zack Orji

Veteran Nollywood actor Zack Orji has stirred political conversation with his recent declaration that President Bola Tinubu remains the most qualified candidate ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 presidential election. 

Speaking during an appearance on the KaaTruths podcast, Orji did not hold back in reaffirming his support for Tinubu, citing what he described as the president’s proven competence, reform-driven mindset, and commitment to national inclusivity.

According to the actor, his support for Tinubu is rooted in careful observation rather than sentiment. Orji explained that among the leading contenders in the last election cycle, Tinubu stood out in terms of capacity and readiness to implement critical reforms. 

He stressed that leadership should be based on ability and results, not just political rhetoric, adding that Tinubu’s track record, particularly during his tenure as governor of Lagos State, played a major role in shaping his opinion.

Orji also pointed to what he sees as one of Tinubu’s strongest qualities  his inclusive approach to governance. 

Highlighting his personal background as an Igbo man, the actor revealed that he was particularly impressed by Tinubu’s history of appointing individuals from different ethnic groups into key positions.

 He noted that during Tinubu’s time as Lagos governor, Igbos were consistently represented in his cabinet, a move Orji believes demonstrates a genuine commitment to national unity.

Beyond inclusivity, Orji emphasized Tinubu’s reputation for mentoring and developing people across ethnic and political lines. He argued that the president has a unique ability to identify and nurture talent, regardless of background, which in his view sets him apart from other political figures. 

For Orji, this quality reinforces his belief that Tinubu is not only a leader but also a builder of future leaders.

This is not the first time the actor has publicly backed Tinubu. As far back as 2022, before the official campaign season began, Orji openly declared his support for Tinubu’s presidential ambition. 

His latest comments therefore serve as a continuation of a long-standing political stance rather than a sudden shift.

Tinubu, who assumed office on May 29, 2023, after winning the presidential election under the All Progressives Congress (APC), has since introduced several major economic reforms. 

These include the removal of fuel subsidy and significant changes to Nigeria’s foreign exchange system. While these policies have been praised by some as necessary steps toward long-term economic stability, they have also attracted criticism due to their immediate impact on the cost of living.

With the next general election scheduled for 2027, political alignments and endorsements are gradually beginning to take shape. 

Orji’s endorsement adds a notable voice from the entertainment industry to the ongoing discourse, reflecting how public figures continue to influence political conversations in Nigeria.
