Nollywood actor Kunle Remi has shared a deeply emotional message addressed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu following reports of a deadly attack in Jos.

The incident reportedly occurred on Palm Sunday, when suspected Fulani gunmen opened fire on residents of Angwa Rukuba in Jos, leaving several people injured and others feared dead. The tragic development has sparked widespread reactions across the country, with many Nigerians expressing grief and outrage.

Reacting to the situation, Kunle Remi took to social media to share a heartbreaking video showing a mother holding her injured son. The actor described the clip as a painful reflection of the reality many Nigerians are facing and said it served as his personal birthday message to the president.

“You wake up.

You pray.

You thank God for life.

Then you open the internet… and you see this.

A Nigerian woman crying.

Watching someone she loves slip away.

No power. No help. No system.

Just bombing, violence, suspected gunmen.

Pain and Tears.

And you ask yourself…

How did we get here?” he wrote.

The actor questioned the state of the nation, expressing disbelief at the level of insecurity and suffering experienced by citizens. According to him, the current situation does not reflect the hopes and prayers of Nigerians.

“This cannot be the country we pray for every morning.

This cannot be the reward for hard work.

This cannot be the future we keep promising ourselves,” he continued.

Kunle Remi went on to describe his message as more meaningful than official birthday wishes or political statements, urging the president to truly understand the weight of what Nigerians are going through.

“Maybe this is the real birthday message to Mr President today.

Not the official statements.

Not the press releases.

Just this pain.

I hope this reaches you.

I hope you see what Nigerians are carrying.

I hope one day leadership will truly feel the weight of the people.

Happy birthday, Mr President.

Because while candles are being blown somewhere…

Many Nigerians are just trying not to lose everything.

This is not politics.

This is pain,” he added.

His post has resonated with many Nigerians online, further amplifying concerns about insecurity and the emotional toll of recurring violent incidents across the country.

Other celebrities have also reacted to similar tragedies in recent times. Afrobeats star Davido previously expressed sadness over the abduction of young girls in Kebbi State, stating that no family deserves such pain while calling for unity among Nigerians. He also condemned attacks on religious centres, stressing that such violence should never become normal.

In another instance, actress Toyin Abraham shared a heartfelt message directed at mothers, highlighting the deep fear they carry in times of insecurity. She noted that such incidents go beyond news headlines, describing them as emotional wounds that affect families and communities.

Similarly, Iyabo Ojo called for urgent government intervention, declaring that “enough is enough” while drawing comparisons to past national tragedies and urging decisive action to prevent further occurrences.

Even younger voices have joined the conversation. Boluwatife Balogun, son of music star Wizkid, expressed his concerns, stating that his generation refuses to remain silent in the face of fear and insecurity, emphasizing their determination to demand a better future.

Kunle Remi’s message adds to the growing chorus of voices calling for urgent attention to the country’s security challenges, as citizens continue to demand safety, accountability, and meaningful change.
