Nigerian reality television personality and entrepreneur Natacha Akide, popularly known as Symply Tacha, has unveiled the official plaques for the two Guinness World Records she set during her marathon makeup challenge in Lagos.
The announcement was shared on her Instagram and X pages on Sunday, aligning with the global celebration of International Women’s Day. In her post, Tacha celebrated the milestone while also encouraging people—particularly women—to remain focused on their ambitions.
According to the former reality TV star, she now holds two records certified by Guinness World Records: completing 82 cosmetic makeovers within eight hours and 143 makeovers within 24 hours.
“It’s finally here. Months of hard work, two Guinness World Records. From victory vision,” she wrote while sharing photos of the plaques online.
The achievements were recorded during a makeup marathon held on November 12, 2025, as part of the Tacha Beauty Festival, a three-day event organised by the entrepreneur. The intensive makeup session took place at the John Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture and History in Lagos.
During the challenge, Tacha and her team worked continuously to complete as many cosmetic makeovers as possible within the time limits established by the record authority. Attempts of this nature must follow strict monitoring and documentation procedures before the results can be approved and officially certified.
Reflecting on the experience, the beauty entrepreneur revealed that the preparation leading up to the event required months of planning and coordination.
“For anyone that knows me, you already know I like to do things myself — one-man mopo,” she wrote, explaining that she personally took an active role in ensuring that every aspect of the project was executed successfully.
She also disclosed that the journey toward achieving the record was not without obstacles. According to her, securing sponsorship for the festival proved challenging, as some organisations that initially expressed interest eventually backed out.
The reality star further explained that some people questioned her ability to manage multiple responsibilities while attempting such an ambitious challenge.
“They said: how can one person be good at influencing, advocacy, be a graduate, a reality TV star, a philanthropist, a CEO running businesses and still be a professional makeup artist?” she wrote.
Despite the doubts and logistical hurdles, Tacha said she remained determined to complete the challenge and ultimately achieved the record-breaking results.
The entrepreneur credited her resilience and faith for helping her push through the difficult moments during the preparation and execution of the marathon.
“I’m grateful to God that I was able to prove that it is possible,” she said.
In her message, she also used the moment to celebrate women who continue striving toward their goals, even when faced with criticism or uncertainty.
“So today, I dedicate these awards to every amazing woman out there — every woman who is still dreaming, every woman who is still on her journey of becoming, every woman who sometimes doubts herself but still keeps going,” she added.
Tacha encouraged her followers to view the achievement as proof that determination and focus can lead to success.
“Look at this and remember: whatever you put your mind to do, you can achieve it,” she wrote.
International Women’s Day is observed annually on March 8 to recognise the accomplishments of women across different sectors while also raising awareness about issues related to gender equality.
By unveiling the plaques on this symbolic day, Tacha said she hoped her story would motivate other women to believe in their abilities and continue pursuing their dreams regardless of the challenges they encounter.
The makeup marathon remains one of the most notable highlights of the Tacha Beauty Festival, reinforcing the entrepreneur’s growing influence in Nigeria’s beauty and entertainment industries.
