“After Payment, You Disappear” – Nkechi Blessing Slams Nollywood Colleagues

Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing has voiced her frustration with some of her colleagues in the film industry, calling out actors who demand huge fees to appear in movies but fail to support the project after it is released.

Taking to her Instagram page, the outspoken actress did not hold back as she addressed what she described as an unfair and disappointing trend among certain performers. 

According to her, while she has no issue with actors charging as much as ₦3 million or even more depending on their value and influence, the real problem begins once filming is completed.

Nkechi lamented that some actors who are well paid for their roles often refuse to promote the movie when it is eventually released.

 She explained that despite receiving significant payment, these individuals act as though they contributed to the project for free, making little or no effort to share the film with their followers or create awareness online.

In her words, she expressed disbelief at how difficult it has become to get some actors to simply post about a film they were paid to be part of. 

She stressed that promoting a project should not feel like a struggle or a favour, especially when the actor has already been compensated for their role.

The actress further emphasized the importance of collaboration and mutual support in the entertainment industry. 

She noted that filmmaking is a collective effort that requires not just talent on screen but also active promotion to ensure the project reaches its intended audience. Without proper publicity, even a well-produced film may struggle to gain visibility.

Clearly angered by the situation, Nkechi warned that she would no longer tolerate such behaviour. She made it clear that any actor who collects a large sum of money but refuses to support the movie’s promotion would face consequences. 

In a strongly worded remark, she even hinted that such disputes could escalate if necessary, underlining how seriously she takes the issue.

She also reminded her colleagues that producing films requires substantial financial investment, adding that money does not come easily. 

According to her, it is unfair for anyone to take advantage of a filmmaker’s hard work and resources without offering the expected level of support in return.

Her comments have since sparked conversations within the entertainment space, with many agreeing that actors should play a more active role in promoting projects they are involved in. 

Others, however, believe that promotion terms should be clearly outlined in contracts to avoid misunderstandings.

As reactions continue to trail her statement, Nkechi Blessing’s remarks highlight a growing concern in Nollywood about professionalism, accountability, and the need for better collaboration among industry players.
