Nigerian disc jockey and philanthropist Florence Otedola, widely known as DJ Cuppy, has shared an emotional reflection after returning to her alma mater, King’s College London, to deliver a graduation commemoration speech — 12 years after completing her studies there.
Taking to social media, the entertainer posted a video from the event, describing the experience as surreal and deeply fulfilling. She recalled graduating from the institution in 2014 and expressed amazement at standing before a new generation of graduates in 2026 as their guest speaker.
“In 2014, I graduated from King’s College London. And now in 2026, I delivered the graduation commemoration speech. Full circle moment, I’m still pinching myself,” she wrote.
During her address, DJ Cuppy encouraged the students to pursue excellence, remain grounded, and uplift others along their journeys. She also quoted popular singer Davido’s well-known line, “We rise by lifting others,” a phrase she said perfectly captures her personal values and life philosophy.
Her appearance at King’s College London marks yet another academic milestone for the daughter of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, who has continued to prioritize education alongside her music and philanthropic pursuits.
In March 2023, DJ Cuppy proudly earned a Master of Science degree from the University of Oxford, making it her third academic qualification. At the time, she shared joyful photos from her graduation ceremony and told fans she intended to celebrate the achievement loudly.
In another post following the ceremony, she expressed immense pride in herself while sharing additional pictures, confidently declaring that she “brags differently.”
Beyond her academic accomplishments, DJ Cuppy has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to education and humanitarian causes. In a separate development, she recently announced the launch of the Cuppy Fund at New York University, an initiative designed to support African students studying abroad.
In May 2023, the philanthropist also received widespread praise after building a virtual laboratory for students at Jakande Estate College. Sharing footage from her visit to the school, she described her passion for education as an obsession and expressed gratitude for being part of a project capable of creating lasting impact.
“I’m so blessed to be part of something this transformative,” she said at the time, emphasizing her belief in using her platform and resources to empower young minds.
Just a month before that visit, DJ Cuppy had unveiled a scholarship fund for African students at Oxford University, aimed at providing financial support and encouragement to graduate students from the continent. Announcing the initiative on Instagram, she said she was proud to contribute to the academic journey of fellow Africans.
Her dedication to humanitarian work has also extended to individual support, as she once sponsored a young woman’s education — a gesture that earned her admiration and praise from fans across social media.
From global stages to classrooms and charitable projects, DJ Cuppy continues to blend entertainment, education, and impact, using her achievements to inspire others and create meaningful change.
