Sophia Momodu, who shares a child with Afrobeats superstar Davido, has clapped back at a social media critic who mocked her for flaunting luxury purchases online.

The media personality had posted a Snapchat video documenting a shopping outing, proudly displaying several Hermès shopping bags. Her post quickly drew criticism from a troll who questioned her priorities, suggesting she was too old to be showcasing designer items instead of focusing on long-term investments.

The troll wrote:

"Lol, at this age, you are still showing boxes of Hermes. You would be 40 next year; your mates are building businesses and buying houses. All you have used all your life to do is seek social media validation”.

In response, Sophia fired back, pointing out that the same critics are silent when she shares milestones related to her career, philanthropy, or business ventures. She stressed that backlash only appears when her lifestyle doesn’t align with the narrow expectations others have placed on her.

She wrote:

“Ah ah no be ‘it’s fake’, again?? When I’m at my collaborative book launch (Author), giving back (Precious Jewels Foundation), sip & shop (BlissbyTSM showroom), signing deals, on their TV screens, doing International brands, trips, etc.

You’ll never see them, but God forbid. I post myself chilling, minding my business, and it doesn’t matter their weird projections; here they come, sticking up the whole place. You love me bye!”.

Since her highly publicised fallout with Davido, which pushed her further into the public eye, Sophia Momodu has remained a frequent target of online criticism, often facing harsh commentary over her lifestyle and personal choices.
