The ongoing dispute involving Nollywood actress Olatoun Olanrewaju and Iyan Aladuke, the wife of popular filmmaker and actor Femi Adebayo, has intensified following the release of a leaked audio recording that has since sparked widespread reactions online.
Olatoun, who had earlier accused Iyan Aladuke of falsely linking her to the couple’s marital crisis, shared the audio clip to support her claims. According to her, the recording captures a private conversation in which Iyan allegedly made disturbing statements about Femi Adebayo and his father, veteran Nollywood actor Adebayo Salami, fondly known as Oga Bello.
In the audio, a voice alleged to be Iyan Aladuke is heard making remarks about destroying the reputation Femi Adebayo is said to be trying to protect, while also expressing hope that his father would suffer a stroke. The speaker also referenced plans to target Femi’s Instagram account, describing it as something deeply important to him.
“First, when you said Oga Bello would have a stroke, I didn’t immediately process it. That was why I asked if he had a secret with you, the name he is trying to protect. I will destroy it beyond measure, and he would later have a stroke. Don’t let me write a film about them. How do you want to collect? You took me to Church; how will they unalive you from all I said now? From everything I’ve said now, what exactly is your role in all this?” the voice said in the recording.
The speaker went on to outline what was described as part of a broader plan aimed at Femi Adebayo, stating, “That’s the most difficult part of my plans for him; the least I intended to do for him now is to bring down his Instagram page so he can feel the heat, because he values it so much.”
Olatoun released the audio alongside a detailed statement in which she accused Iyan Aladuke of betrayal and attempting to rope her into an alleged scheme to pressure or blackmail Femi Adebayo into returning home amid their marital issues. She insisted that she was being unfairly targeted and blamed for problems she did not create.
Responding to claims that she took Iyan to a shrine, Olatoun firmly denied the allegation, maintaining that she only accompanied her to a church for prayers. She accused Iyan of twisting that encounter into a damaging narrative designed to harm her reputation.
“I took you to a church to pray. You used that as part of your story to build a lie to blackmail him to return home. I told you I was scared, and you shouldn’t do it. Instead, I was hearing from different angles that I took you to a shrine. Me, Olatoun,” she wrote.
She further stated that the narrative had been widely spread, leaving her with little choice but to release the recording in order to clear her name. “You were spoiling my name and using me to blackmail him to return home. How do I defend myself without this recording? And you continued to attack me as if I were the root cause. Tell people exactly what you did and stop blaming me,” she added.
Earlier, Olatoun had also spoken about how her relationship with Iyan Aladuke began, alleging that their closeness eventually turned problematic. She claimed that events on the set of Jagun Jagun 2 marked the beginning of her ordeal, accusing Iyan of carrying out “unspeakable things” toward Femi Adebayo during the production, which she said later snowballed into deeper family conflict.
In her latest remarks, Olatoun urged Iyan Aladuke to take responsibility for her actions and to stop projecting blame onto her. She called on her to speak openly and truthfully, rather than continuing what she described as a campaign of false accusations.
As the audio continues to circulate, reactions remain divided across social media, with many calling for calm and urging all parties involved to resolve their differences privately. However, the release of the recording has added a new layer to an already heated controversy, keeping the spotlight firmly on the unfolding drama within the Nollywood community.
