Social media personality and celebrity chef Desmond Scott has spoken publicly for the first time following the end of his marriage to fellow content creator Kristy Scott, acknowledging that personal decisions he made during the relationship played a major role in their separation.
The announcement of the couple’s breakup came as a shock to many followers who had admired their family life and partnership online. Reports indicate that Kristy filed for divorce earlier in 2026, formally closing a chapter on a marriage that had attracted significant attention across social media platforms.
In a candid message shared via his Instagram Stories on Sunday, Desmond accepted responsibility for the collapse of the marriage, revealing that discussions about going their separate ways began months earlier. According to him, the idea of separation was first raised toward the end of 2025, following a period of reflection on the state of their relationship.
“Toward the end of 2025, I wanted to separate, and I had conversations with Kristy regarding this. During this period, I made choices that I am not proud of,” he admitted.
While Desmond did not provide specific details about the choices he referenced, he stressed that he took accountability for his actions and addressed them directly with Kristy. He explained that honesty became a turning point in their decision-making process as a couple.
“I took responsibility for those actions, I shared this with her directly and personally, and ultimately we decided to divorce,” he stated.
The father of two expressed regret over the impact the situation has had on his family and supporters who had looked up to their marriage. He offered a heartfelt apology to those affected by the public nature of the split.
“I want to begin by apologising to Kristy, our family, and everyone who has been impacted by the public attention surrounding this situation. I know this news has been disappointing for many, and I’m truly sorry for the hurt it has caused,” Desmond said.
Despite the end of their marriage, Desmond emphasized that co-parenting remains his top priority. He described Kristy as an irreplaceable part of his life due to their shared responsibility as parents.
“Kristy is the mother of my children, and that will always come first. I remain fully committed to being an active, present, and loving parent to our boys, as I have always been,” he added.
He also made it clear that the decision to divorce was not taken lightly, noting that both he and Kristy made genuine attempts to resolve their issues before choosing to part ways.
“Kristy and I faced challenges and made sincere efforts to work through them,” Desmond noted, suggesting that the separation came after careful consideration rather than impulsive action.
