Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola has spoken glowingly about her colleague, Kolawole Ajeyemi, describing him as a “very peaceful human” in a heartwarming birthday tribute that has caught the attention of fans and industry watchers.
In a belated birthday post shared on her social media page, Wumi praised Kolawole’s character, talent, and professionalism, referring to him as a great man and a prolific actor whose presence brings calm and positivity.
The actress also offered prayers for him, expressing hope that the year ahead would be filled with blessings and success.
“Happy birthday to a great man. A multi-talented actor, a prolific colleague, and a very peaceful human. May God continue to bless all that concerns you. Have a great year, daddy ire. It’s better late than never,” she wrote, while tagging Kolawole in the post.
The tribute quickly drew reactions from fans who applauded the show of affection and maturity between the two actors, especially given the history of rumors and controversies that once surrounded their relationship.
Many believe Wumi’s message was a gesture of goodwill and a reflection of mutual respect, particularly as Kolawole had similarly celebrated her in the past.
In 2025, despite Wumi’s reported fallout with his wife, Toyin Abraham, Kolawole had publicly celebrated Wumi with kind words and prayers, a move that was widely praised at the time.
Wumi and Kolawole have, however, not been strangers to controversy. Several years ago, rumors surfaced alleging that Kolawole was romantically involved with Wumi, who was described by bloggers as his wife’s former close friend.
Wumi firmly shut down the claims, questioning why people were so determined to tarnish reputations and fuel unnecessary conflict within the entertainment industry.
The actress also addressed the recurring fixation on celebrity scandals, stating that false narratives often cause long-term damage and breed needless animosity among colleagues.
Wumi Toriola’s name has also been linked to other high-profile Nollywood fallouts. In 2023, she reportedly fell out with Toyin Abraham over casting decisions related to Funke Akindele’s hit movie Battle on Buka Street and Toyin’s film Ijakumo.
According to reports, Wumi felt sidelined after not being cast, leading to heated exchanges between both actresses and Toyin eventually unfollowing her on Instagram.
Following the fallout, Wumi went on to feature in Funke Akindele’s project, a move many interpreted as her aligning with Toyin’s rival. Toyin, on the other hand, later reconciled with Wumi’s former close friend, Seyi Edun, further deepening the web of Nollywood alliances and fallouts.
Despite past controversies, Wumi’s recent birthday message to Kolawole Ajeyemi appears to signal growth, maturity, and a willingness to let bygones be bygones.
